We'd like to explore the differences between the two main Slam Poetry teams in Austin: Austin Poetry Slam and the Neo-Soul Lounge.
Structure:
-Open with footage of performances
-Interview with performer from Spider House, interspersed with B-roll of more performances and the club
-Interview with performer from Neo-Soul Lounge, interspersed with B-roll of more performances and the club
-Interview with a judge from one of the performances about slam poetry
-Close with a strong performance
Video/text:
There won't be a strong text component beyond people's names, etc. The audio will be word-based (as opposed to background noise and music, for example), so more words on the screen would probably be too much.
Potential interviews:
-at least two performers from each club
-one judge from each club
Sounds like a great plan. As for the text part, It would be helpful to briefly summarize the main message of this video, what is slam poetry and what are the two organizations. In a word, the purpose of the text is to encourage people to watch your video.
