The Fine Line Between Cheating and Collaboration on Facebook

Facebook Users 

At the University of Texas at Austin there has been a recent increase in the number of students using social media for academic purposes. It seems that the most common use of social media is student involvement in Facebook groups. Although this seems like a great idea on the surface there are numerous issues that have begun to arise, particularly academic dishonesty between the fine line of helping others or cheating and giving out answers. We went out and interviewed professors and students to get their thoughts on how they felt about the use of Facebook groups and other forms of social media in academics.

The Good vs. The Bad- EXTRA CREDIT

Dwayne Wade usually known for his clutch fourth quarter performances came out on top and nailed the game winning shot. Taken from an ESPN article, as soon as he nailed the shot, he got on top of the score board tables and showed of his jersey number and team name. It's a good and bad photo at the time, we don't know what to focus on, Dwayne Wade in the Jersey or the fans, it's good because it is capturing the moment, but to make this image more of a focal point they could of cropped the image and slighty blurred the back round a little but kept the foreground with it's normal pixels. You can see the emotion so it's good in that area, but the picture itself is still not ideal, but not bad.

An article on ESPN on the soccer link, Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably one of the top two best soccer players in the game worldwide, Real Madrid faced off against Barcelona, a heated rivalry was caught in action. This photo is in my opinion a good picture, it captures the moment, it has it focal point, it is not blurry, you can see the emotion, the background is blurred so the main focus are Ronaldo and the goalie going after the ball. Both players are in the center,  it captures enough on the left and the right so it is well balanced picture. So this picture compared to the other one is better than the one on the top.

Jorge and AWESOME new friends

So I guess it would be best for me to introduce myself before I jump into babeling about these two wonderful individuals that I met in my J302F disussion class. My name is Jorge Guerra and I'm a freshman at the University of Texas and I am majoring in Journalism which lies in the College of Communication. I am from Sugar Land, Texas but I mostly introduce myself saying that I am from Houston. Believe me it saves me a lot of time. Now enough about boring me and to the exciting individuals I will introduce you gals too. Ladies, you are in luck, the young and handsome gentlemen from Harlingen, Texas is single, but men unfortunately the lovely lady from Houston, Texas is currently in a relationship. But nonetheless, you should still charge at the opportunity to get to know these wonderful people.
