The above photo of Shia LaBeouf was featured in an article in the Los Angeles Times newspaper.  I personally think this is a bad photo because it serves no purpose to the story other than establishing who Shia LaBeouf is.  The article was about LaBeouf quitting a play over "creative differences" and the caption of the photo states "Shia LaBeouf at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills in 2011."  The photo has nothing to do with the story, and it is two years old.

The above photo is from the San Antonio Express newspaper.  I believe this is an example of a great photo.  It meshes perfectly with the story and it shows the nature of the vigil held by Brandies High School students.  I like how the photo focuses solely on the one boy.  The photo says so much about loss, and I can only imagine what the boy is thinking and feeling.  Although the vigil was held to celebrate the lives of the two students lost in the car accident, I like how the photo captures darkness and sorrow.
