Brunch Club, this is going to be one good semester, because we have the honor of sharing a class with two great guys, Tom and Jorge. Both Journalism majors are quite friendly and helpful- Tom even helped me with getting Blogger situated. He is a sophomore from Harlingen, Texas, and has a sweet, neatly trimmed beard. Tom prefers getting his news from the Huffington Post. Don't let the pierced ears fool you, because he is extremely nice. Just as long as you're not an intolerant person, feel free to stop by Starbucks in Downtown Austin and say hello! He whips up a mean double tall soy latte.
When Jorge, a freshman from Sugarland, Texas, is not studying, he spends his days absorbing ESPN. The Harbaugh brothers, head coaches and rivals for the teams in the upcoming Superbowl championship game, are his current obsession. Jorge has a relaxed college student vibe- sweatpants and scruff included. If you're a fan of the UT swim team, you can't miss him. He is their manager! But now that you feel immediately compelled to get his autograph, slow your roll...his pet peeve is impatient people. Though, he may be open to trading Mexican food in exchange for one.
And I'm Megan. I'm a first-year who couldn't wait to leave Houston, Texas and get to beautiful ATX. I love everything from trying different foods, meeting new people, bargain shopping, and scary movies. I just took my first belly dancing class this past weekend, and I drink my coffee black. (And uh, I'm not going back.) I love magazines and television, which may be a path I hope to take with my Journalism major. I'm still thinking/stressing about that. Much to my roommate's happiness, I recently got over an animal video obsession, partly because I believe I have now seen all that Youtube has to offer. Why people aren't making more videos of their German Shepherds is beyond me. Anyway, this video gets me every time:
